As a music junkie, I hear all kinds of new stuff. I’m the worst sort. I’m the type that loves musical diversity so much, that some of the strangest arrangements sound beautiful to me. I do have a few things I truly don’t like, but they are few.
Being the type, I decided that I needed a non-forceful way of sharing my love of music with the various people around who love to open up to new sounds. Not everyone has the time nor the drive to explore the thousands of bands out there, so they’re happy to have someone like me make suggestions.
I started a group on Facebook for Audial Mitzvah and at least once a week sent out links of some of the best music I could find to all the group members. I maintain that most of them liked it, although I don’t think everyone enjoyed what we offered. Regardless, listeners rolled in and checked out what I offered.
After awhile, I quit mitzvah because Facebook rendered the weekly emails with hotlinked songs difficult. It was awhile before anyone said anything, but it happened. I started to get former mitvahns bugging me about starting it back up.
I realized that a blog was the best way to do it. That way, anyone can join, hear what I have, and do it at their pleasure. The group will stay up, and I’ll invite everyone to be there as they wish. But the blog is the new format and I’m committed this time. If it goes well, I’ll get my own domain and host it there. I hope to eventually host my files on my own site too. I’m new to this owning my own website thing, so it’ll be work before I can do it.
Anyway, here it is. I’ll have stuff up a.s.a.p. and am glad to be back.
